Hello WMDPG members,

We have a new Zoom class we have lined up for your painting pleasure.  Sonja Richardson can no longer attend the New England Traditions (NET) convention in October to teach several classes, so we reached out to her to see if she would be willing to teach her ‘Cats and Bats’ design and she said yes.  How wonderful is that?

Date: Friday, October 1st

Time: 1:00PM – 5:00PM EST

Fee: $40.00 and includes the surface kit, prep instructions, packet, after class recording, and post class enhanced chat notes.

Attached below is the registration form.  Because Sonja has to ship kits, the signup deadline is Friday, September 17th.  You can email me to save your spot while your check is in transit.

I was signed up to paint this piece at NET.  Can you tell I am doing the happy dance?  Hope you can join me.

Memory Box Program

We have the opportunity to join our sister chapter White Mountain to paint via zoom the memory box with Maria Grimanis. Please see information below.

Hello WMDPG members,

We have an exciting memory box project program planned for Saturday, September 11th from noon to 4:00PM EST.  Maria Grimanis is our guest teacher and she will be teaching a new design she created just for our members.  This copyrighted design is called: ‘Surrounded by Angels.’ Maria painted hers on a 9 ¼” paper-mache box.

I am accepting signups now for this free program that will be taught virtually via Zoom.  The prep instructions and line drawing are available now.  In the meantime, please find an appropriate surface.   Before registering, please check your schedules.  Only registered attendees that sign into the Zoom portal on September 11th for Maria’s class will be emailed the complete packet after the event has concluded and the recording.  No exceptions, so please do not ask.

Ordering Supplies for 2021

Linda Kapp and Jane Allen have worked hard to give you a nice line up of seminars and programs for 2021.

To make it even easier Linda has made an order form so that you can buy all your supplies for 2021. It might seem like a lot to order so far ahead but some of the surfaces are from Bear with Us and they will be going out of business this year so we want to make sure we will have the surfaces for you.

Random Acts of Kindness Classes

Our Sister Chapter White Mountain is working with different designers to create ornaments from the Dollar Tree to use as Random acts of kindness to give to others. We are invited to join in the fun. Below is a letter that was sent out to White Mountain members. The first group that will be benefiting from their RAK is a veterans group. We can send our ornaments to them or we can give them to a local charity in our area. Please see the information below and let Carolyn know if you would like to participate. The first teacher is Paulette DiGesare on Thursday March 11th from 6:30 to 9:30PM EST. 

Not only do we get to bless others but we are blessed to have the opportunity to paint with these great teachers.

Memory Box Paint-In

Penn’s Woods Painters program for February will be for painting Memory Boxes. We are fortunate to be able to paint two boxes this year with two different teachers. In the morning we will be able to paint a Shara Reiner design that has been adjusted to fit our round boxes. The program will be taught by Jane Allen. The morning program will be hosted by PWP.
