Hello Painting Friends,

WOW!  It’s July!  Happy Independence Day!

With the recent news of the Corona Virus, we have started to meet using Zoom online.  Using this tool, we will be able to continue to hold our programs all from the comfort of our own homes.

In addition, we are so fortunate that there are many online lessons that we can use to keep us painting.  Examples are the Artfully Connected  and Let’s Paint With Plaid Facebook groups that have sessions each week.

Stay safe, keep calm, wear a mask and wash your hands.

Hope you had a Happy Valentine’s Day!

We had a wonderful time sharing the LOVE at our annual Memory Box Paint In Program.  Elaine Moran taught her lovely Butterfly and Floral design and the brushes were flying, with some members painting two, and even three! boxes.

Betty Lou is the hostess with the moistest, and saw to it that we were well fed with a delicious French Onion Soup.  Elaine came with her talented painting family, who brought subs and a surprise birthday cake for our teacher.

Fran brought several binders full of patterns which Pat Meyers generously donated to the chapter for any members who wanted them.  Looking through them was a lovely walk down memory lane of the programs offered by Penns Woods over the years.

We’d sure love for you to join us for our Surprise Program on Saturday, March 21.  Bring your usual painting supplies, your one hint is that it is a smaller sized project, and has a bit of dry brushing

So sorry that we had to cancel our January Program due to inclement weather.  But, we are looking forward to surprising you in March.  Don’t forget to join us on February 15th for our Memory Box Program, taught by Elaine Moran.

Linda Kapp, PWP President 2017-2019

As I prepare my last article as President for the January Newsletter, I assume many of you are decorating, cooking or wrapping gifts for the upcoming celebration. I do hope that most of you found some time to paint as well. It has been a rewarding three years as President of PWP. I hope you will consider getting involved with this great group of ladies and help us continue as a strong chapter. I enjoyed traveling to Convention and representing our Chapter. Thanks to each of you for my experience.

At our planning meeting this month, Barb Lehman, Jeannine Lewis, Dee DeLorenzo and I discussed different, exciting projects for you to look forward to.  Thank you to Lois Eckert, Melissa Crowther and Jeannine Lewis for submitting projects for programs. I am also excited to share that Nancy Stauffer will be teaching a n Erica Joanne project in April. There will be a fee for this class to cover Nancy’s fees plus each student is required to purchase the pattern.

Our January Meeting with be Installation of Officers and a General Membership Meeting during our Pot Luck Lunch.  A cute SURPRISE project will be taught by Dee DeLorenzo.  In February, Elaine Moran will share her talent and lead the Memory Box Program. Then, in March, we will have our Board meeting during the Pot Luck Lunch and Dottie Shultz sharing one of her watercolor paintings. Be sure to look in the January newsletter for more information about each of these programs.

Happy New Year,
Linda Kapp
President, Penns Woods Painters
