Joyce Gutierrez’s sister, Cindy Black, performed the Installation of the 2014 officers. Her remarks focused on how the infinite variety of colors lead to beautiful art, as do the variations amongst us as individuals, leading to our chapter personality. Joyce hand crocheted beautiful scarves for each of the officers.
Joyce’s Installation, written by Joyce Gutierrez and performed by Cindy Black:
Just as you can’t paint with one color you can’t run Penns Woods Painters with just one person. It takes many colors and layers to make a picture stand out and really look good. That’s why before you are these ladies with their many colors represented in their colored scarfs to keep Penns Woods Painters an active chapter and to keep us all doing what we love to do -painting. The many colors on the scarfs represent the many functions that each position holds. The twists and turns represent that we all work together to make this chapter possible. The positions are not all black & white each one of these ladies up here helps the other so that each may do their jobs and in turn makes us Penns Woods Painters.
